I, Rikutsu-Kone-Taro, woud like to briefly introduce the my GR Yaris RZHP albeit a bit late.
Rikutsu-Kone-Taro opted for the RZ High Performance 1st Edition. The color is Platinum White Pearl Mica. The Morizo signature is prominently displayed on the passenger side of the front windshield.
They’ve opted for minimal electronic safety assistance devices, no cruise control, no backup monitor, and no navigation system (they’ve installed an aftermarket backup monitor, with the installation done at GRgarage Kita-Ikebukuro. For details, click here).
The prices of current in-car navigation systems are unreasonably expensive, sometimes reaching around 10% of the vehicle’s price. It feels excessively expensive compared to its value.
With Apple CarPlay installed, connecting an iPhone allows for convenient access to music, YouTube, and navigation without much hassle.
Regarding the carbon roof, the dealership representative advised that a film covering would offer greater durability, so they opted for the film covering.
This purchase amounted to roughly 5 million yen, but they are highly satisfied with the outcome.
Well, there are some minor complaints. Since Rikutsu-Kone-Taro usually drives a right-hand drive Peugeot, they occasionally mistakenly operate the wipers instead of the turn signals, as the GR Yaris has the turn signal lever on the right.
Sometimes, they feel the shift knob is a bit too large in their hand. It’s almost spherical, so it doesn’t catch on their hand, but there’s a feeling of excess space in their palm.
That’s about it for now.
Addendum (August 2021): They started to feel dissatisfied with the GR Yaris’ rear view around 2000km of driving. So, I decided to customize it. (Photo1 & 2)
Do you think it looks better now?
Additionally, in May 2022, they luckily acquired brand-new OEM wheels and tires at a reasonable price and painted the wheels to match the car’s original color. It looks really cool. Since the OEM wheels were originally black, painting them white gives a slightly different shade, but it adds character. (Photo3)
Jumping back a bit, around May 2021, they replaced the shift lever with an aftermarket quick shifter. It significantly changed the impression from the driver’s seat. (Photo4)
All the work was done at GRgarage. Since they’ve only driven a little after the replacement, they’ll provide more specific impressions later.
That’s all for the addendum.
